Nick is a six-year veteran of the Fenwick Hockey coaching staff and current head Varsity coach for the Friars. Coach Chiappe started as an assistant to the JV2 team in 2014 then in 2015-2018 as he served as the Head Coach for JV1. Most recently an was an assistant coach for Varsity in 2019.

Nick brings over 300 high school games coached, some Kennedy Cup Final appearances and a State Runner-up finish at the JV level.
Joe attended Fenwick High School prior to attending Shattuck-St. Mary's School in Faribault, Minnesota. After Shattuck, Joe went off to play at Western Michigan University from 1995-1998. From college, Joe played 11 seasons in the NHL with the LA Kings, Ottawa Senators, Caroline Hurricanes, Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins. Joe a

Joe also participated in the World Junior Championships in 1997, 2003 and 2006 - the 1997 team placed second overall. Ryan Fleming is a third-year student at Adler University, pursuing a Master of Science in Sport and Human Performance along with a Master of Arts in Counseling, specializing in Rehabilitation Counseling and Substance Use. In addition to his studies, Ryan plans to sit for licensure exams to become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant
Ryan Fleming is a third-year student at Adler University, pursuing a Master of Science in Sport and Human Performance along with a Master of Arts in Counseling, specializing in Rehabilitation Counseling and Substance Use. In addition to his studies, Ryan plans to sit for licensure exams to become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Prior to his time at Adler, Ryan graduated from Illinois State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Philosophy, and Cognitive Science. While attending Illinois State University, he also played hockey on the ACHA Division II & III teams.
Ryan has previously worked with NCAA Division I athletes, Tier I Junior hockey players, professional ice cross racers, and high school varsity athletes to improve mental performance in competition. As part of his work, Ryan uses Vealey’s model of mental skills training for development in four areas: Foundational Skills, Performance Skills, Personal Development Skills & Team Skills. In working with 505 hockey, Ryan hopes to utilize all of these areas to improve performance with the athletes in sport as well as areas outside of sport.
Coach Hernbrott began his career with the Redbirds in the 2013-2014 season as an Assistant Coach of the D2 program during their National Championship run. In 2014-2015, Coach Hernbrott was named Head Coach of the Redbirds D3 program in preparation to transition to Head Coach of the D2 team for the 2015-2016 season. Coach Hernbrott led

Coach Hernbrott led his team to the MACHA Gold Conference playoffs in five of his six years as Head Coach. Including an appearance in the MACHA Gold Championship Final game in 2020.
Coach Hernbrott is a United States Marine Corps veteran and was Assistant Captain and leading scorer of the All-Marine Corps Hockey Team 1982 through 1985.
Hernbrott is a USA Hockey Level 5 Coach with over twenty-five years of coaching and executive experience. Prior to becoming the Bloomington Ice Center Manager for the City of Bloomington, Illinois Coach Hernbrott served in a similar capacity for over ten years at Rink Side Ice Arena in Gurnee, Illinois. While there he was one of the founders and the Hockey Director for the Maulers Hockey Program. Now known as the Vipers.
Coach Hernbrott was Head Coach at several levels for the Maulers and was the founder and original Head Coach of the Lakers High School Hockey Program. In addition, Coach Hernbrott is a current member of the Mid American Collegiate Hockey Association board and has served at the executive level on the Maulers and Lakers boards. Coach Hernbrott currently serves as the Coaching Director for the 8U Bloomington Ice Center's USA Hockey Advanced ADM program.
Coach Hernbrott lives in Bloomington with his wife Lisa. He is father of two grown children (Caiti & Dan) and grandfather of two (Lillie & Walker) and another due soon.
Chris played all 4 years for the Fenwick Friars winning back to back State and Kennedy Cup Championships in 2003 & 2004. Following Fenwick, he attended Western Michigan University, played 4 years ACHA Div 1 hockey, and graduated with BA in Business.
